Make it meaningful
Last week, I focussed the episode on identifying the kind of change you might want to make; ensuring that it’s important to you, and that it truly resonates with your core values. This is key to following through with any change you attempt to put in motion.
Now let’s talk about the importance of knowing your WHY?
Why make the change at all?
We all LIKE the idea of change, whether that’s a physical change, a shift in our thinking patterns, dropping an unwanted habit (or starting a great new one), or perhaps trying to take a big step forward in life somehow.
Truth is, we talk a good talk!
You know what I mean…
“I wish I could …(fill in the blanks)… but, I don’t have the time/ resources/ will power/ support etc etc.
You get the picture.
This is the reason the WHY is so important.
❓What could be 10 x better in your life, if only you could make this happen?
❓What incredible outcomes can you expect?
❓What difficult problems will it solve?
❓what would that feel/be like?
Getting clear on the “WHY?” isn’t just an empty exercise. It can give you the fire to move forwards.
Rather than thinking about and focussing on all the difficulties in making that change until you talk yourself out of it…
Knowing the “WHY” can provide you with the capacity to focus on what you CAN do, what steps you CAN take, how you CAN make a start.
